Before you unplug
- Take a photo of the cable connections at the back so setting up is easy later.
- Put the remote, small cables and screws in a zip bag and tape it to the back of the TV or pack it in your essentials bag.
- If the TV is wall mounted, have the bracket removed and fill the screw holes if your lease needs it.
Original box or a rigid carton
The original box with its foam inserts is the best packing. If you do not have it, cover the screen with a soft cloth or foam sheet, wrap the whole TV in two layers of bubble wrap and place it in a rigid carton or a wooden crate made to size, with corner guards.
Never put pressure on the screen - no tape directly on the panel and no other goods stacked against it.
Carry and load it standing
TVs travel standing on their edge, the way they sit on a stand, held between mattresses or soft furniture so they cannot move. Two people carry larger TVs, holding the frame - never the screen.
Frequently asked questions
Can an LED TV be laid flat while shifting?
It is better not to. Flat panels are designed to carry their weight standing; lying flat lets the panel flex under bumps.
Do you dismantle and re-install wall-mounted TVs?
We remove the TV from the bracket and pack it. Re-installation on a new wall mount can be arranged on request.
